Mindful Giving Foundation

You know what your programs need. We make sure the people who want to give it, can.

Partnering with Mindful Giving Foundation means the specific things your programs need, a crib, a winter coat, a week of diapers, get funded by donors directly, without your team taking on a single new system to make that possible. Here's exactly how it works, what changes on your end, and what we ask of you in return.

How it works

1

You tell us what's needed

Specific items, tied to a program or site, whenever a real need comes up. Not a general appeal, the actual thing.

2

We make it visible to donors

As part of an active, ongoing wishlist, not a one-time campaign that goes stale after a few weeks.

3

A donor chooses it and pays in full

The gift goes to Mindful Giving Foundation, not to your organization. That distinction matters, and it's covered in the next section.

4

We purchase, ship, and track it

Sourced, paid for, and sent, with visibility into where it is until it arrives.

5

It arrives, ready to use

No invoice for your team to process, no purchasing account, no reconciliation.

What changes for you, and what we ask in return

The gift is made to Mindful Giving Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3), not to your organization. That's what allows us to handle everything that normally sits between a donor's intention and your program actually receiving the item.

You no longer need

  • A purchasing account or vendor relationships
  • A payment processor or merchant account
  • A shipping or fulfillment process
  • A tax receipt process for these gifts

What we ask of you

  • Keep your needs list current and specific
  • Confirm when an item arrives
  • Tell us if a need is already met another way
  • Let us reference your program publicly, or tell us if you'd rather stay unnamed
On tax receipts specifically: because the donation is made to Mindful Giving Foundation, we issue the donor's tax acknowledgment directly. Your organization still receives and records the item as an in-kind gift for your own books, but you are never the one issuing a receipt for the underlying donation.

Is this a fit for your organization

Not every organization is the right fit for this model. Here's how to tell if yours is.

Good fit if

  • Physical goods reach the people you serve on a recurring basis, not a single event
  • You're a registered nonprofit, or a chapter/affiliate of one
  • Someone on staff can own a simple, evolving needs list

Not the right fit

  • One-off events with no recurring need
  • Core, high-volume inventory better served by wholesale donation channels

If this sounds like your organization, let's talk.

There's no application form yet, just a conversation about your programs, your needs, and whether the timing is right on both sides.
